Science is a required subject for students sitting GCSEs. Students can either study 'Combined Science', which covers all three sciences but results in two GCSEs as a double grade, or study 'Separate Sciences', where they will obtain three seperate GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Students studying Combined Science in school will study Science for around five hours a week, covering a range of topics in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The exact content required will depend on the exam board.
Students studying Seperate Sciences will study Science for around 7.5 hours per week, covering a broader range of topics that those studying Combined.
We suggest that students in school wishing to improve performance or confidence during GCSEs have at least 30 minutes per week of tuition per GCSE.
For students who would be learning science solely with us we suggest 2-3 hours per week of tuition per GCSE.
